Illusion Idenitity
ILLUSION IDENTITY explores the space between who we are and who the world believes us to be. We grow up collecting identities—our name, culture, memories, relationships, ambitions, and the roles we play every day. But somewhere between our true self and the identity we present, an illusion begins to form. Through PEHCHANJi, the scarf becomes a reflection of that illusion—a piece of art that can reveal, conceal, transform, and reinterpret who we are. Every fold creates a new perspective, every movement reveals a different expression, and every wearer completes the story. Because identity is never permanent; it shifts with time, experiences, and the way we choose to see ourselves. Illusion Identity is not about hiding who you are, but questioning what you have been taught to call yourself. Who are you beneath the identity you wear? PEHCHANJi — Khud Ko Khud Se.
1. Classic Neck Styles
-
The French Knot: Fold the scarf diagonally into a triangle, roll it loosely from the point to the wide edge, wrap it around your neck, and tie a relaxed knot at the side. Pairs effortlessly with a crisp white button-down, a black turtleneck, or a neutral blazer.
-
The Drape Statement: Fold the scarf into a loose triangle and let the main artwork hang over your chest, tying the two ends loosely behind your neck. Great for adding visual texture to a plain crewneck sweater or denim jacket.
-
The Neckerchief/Choker Roll: Roll it tightly into a narrow strip, wrap it close around the neck twice, and secure with a small knot in the front or side for a chic, tailored accent.
2. Hair & Headwear Styling
-
The Bohemian Headscarf: Fold into a triangle, place the long edge across your forehead or hairline, and tie the ends beneath your hair at the nape of the neck.
-
The Silky Hair Band: Fold into a long narrow strip and tie it around your head like a headband, securing the knot under your hair or tying it into a bow on top.
-
Ponytail or Bun Wrap: Tie the scarf around the base of a high ponytail or wrap it entirely around a low hair bun, letting the graphic tails drape gracefully over your shoulders.
3. Body & Outfit Accents
-
Top Accent / Drape: Fold diagonally and drape over one shoulder, securing it at the waist with a thin leather belt over a monochromatic dress or oversized blazer.
-
The Statement Belt: Thread the rolled scarf through the belt loops of high-waisted denim or tailored trousers to introduce an unexpected pop of color and texture.
4. Bag Accessory
-
Handle Wrap: Tightly spiral the scarf along the top handle of a structured tote or top-handle bag to protect the leather and add instant visual interest.
-
The Loose Bag Bow: Tie it in a relaxed knot or bow around the base of a shoulder strap or tote handle to showcase the flowing crimson lines and gold tones while on the move.
